I'm Lydia Wollard, a writer and multimedia artist from Waco, Texas.
I currently study writing at the Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Georgia. I specialize in music journalism and web design, but I'm also passionate about creative nonfiction, digital communication, and marketing.
I'm a driven creative who's always looking for the next adventure, and I'm eager to explore new ideas and ways to share them.

As a lifelong enthusiast of anything music related, my passion for music has carried into a majority of my creative endeavors. I currently host a weekly show for SCAD Radio, publish music-related articles, and write and design zines such as Seattle Sound, which earned me a "best zine" award and an article by Peter Relic on the SCAD Works site. I take pride in my ability to explore and unpack the complex history and ideas behind genres and artists, and music journalism is by far my favorite form of writing.

Web Design / Music Journalism: "Seven Iconic Music Videos to Add to Your Watchlist"
For our Writing for Emerging Media final, Alana Acosta Ortiz and I were asked to co-write a piece for our conceptual music-based blog called Setlist. We decided to write a listicle of music videos, collaborating on the intro paragraph and delegating three video descriptions to Alana and four to myself. We were then asked to turn it into a multimedia article, which I was determined to do in a visually stimulating and direct style. I built the article on Shorthand, clipping the videos together on Premier Pro and inserting them behind the headers to give the piece the same personality and energy that music videos give to their songs.
Web Design: Dogeared Literary Journal Website
In fall of 2025, I joined an up-and-coming literary journal called Dogeared, which was run by a group of passionate SCAD writers like myself. I was chosen as a managing editor and web designer for the journal, which I took on as an exciting challenge to my creative skills. I designed the site on Canva's free website building platform, constructing it from scratch with the style guide and graphics provided by our graphic designer. Photography was provided by my co-web designer and the graphic designer, which I then pieced together to build a cohesive, fun site that is useful and accessible for readers and applicants.
Music Journalism: "Ode to Indietronica"
When my professor assigned me to write a narrative piece for my conceptual music blog, Setlist, I immediately knew I'd be writing about my journey with the indietronica subgenre of early-2000s indie. With the help of intuitive links, callouts, and images, I pieced together a narrative that is both educational and personal. From my first moments listening to Passion Pit as a kid to finally seeing them in concert as an adult, the story of my relationship to this seemingly forgotten corner of music is heartwarming, nostalgic, and full-circle.
